Hear Our Story
It is our firm belief that we are all stronger together and the story of UVT is about the best in the business coming together to serve our customers better—together.
2014. Founded by Chris Fink - a firefighter, dispatcher, and R/C enthusiast who needed a way out of Corporate America, having spent nearly a decade as an IT Director in the financial industry. Starting as a drone service provider in emergency response and construction, Chris suffered from a lack of support within the industry. After countless unanswered calls and live chat queues with manufacturers trying to get help, Chris made it his mission to become that resource for his customers.
2016. UVT became one of only a handful of DJI Enterprise Dealers. At the time, DJI was starting to build out its Enterprise division in the United States. UVT would quickly become one of the Top 20 DJI Enterprise Dealers in the US, becoming known for its world-class technical and operational support.
2017. Chris met Andrew McKinney, owner of Express Aerial Solutions (EAS) in the Amarillo, TX area, who, too, was a firefighter and dispatcher. EAS was pioneering the commercial leasing model in the industrial drone industry. By providing their customers with low monthly payments rather than large capital expenditures, leasing made drone technology attainable early on for many in utilities, agriculture, and many others. That same year, the two companies merged, carrying on the UVT name to provide its customers with a new method to obtain UVT's products and services.
2018. Alpha Consulting Group, a drone consulting and training firm owned by Matt Rybar, a Sheriff's Deputy in the Grand Rapids, MI area, partnered with UVT through its dealer network as a means to purchase hardware for resale to its customers. It was 2018, and drones were being adopted by public safety agencies more quickly than ever before. For drones to become a vital component of emergency services, there had to be processes and procedures. Those processes and procedures relied mainly on training. This market demand propelled Alpha and UVT to join forces, ensuring their collective offerings covered every facet of their customer's needs.
2019. UVT expanded its Fayetteville, AR headquarters into an adjacent suite to further increase its capacity to support its customers' growing fleets. This expansion has also enabled UVT to enhance its status as a repair center for several of its manufacturers.
2020. We're writing this in October, and boy, what a year this has been. To say we are grateful is the understatement of a century. As if being a small business wasn't challenging enough, a global pandemic sure has shaken us all quite a bit. We would not be here if it weren't for you, our customers. Your continued trust and loyalty mean more to us than you will ever know. We are still here. We are still supporting you. We are forever grateful.
